Update, Olympics and other bits 'n' bobs

Good Afternoon All!
I have just noticed that The Ginganinja Diaries and Delicious Words have had more than one thousand viewers each!!! I just want to say thank you very much for reading, and I hope you enjoy. I realise I have been a little absent, which I apologise for, but unfortunately life gets in the way.

So unfortunately for me as of Christmas my dreams of being a ballerina have been taken away…ok I know that someone my age cant just become a ballerina by taking a one hour class once a week and hardly ever turning up…but you know what I mean. The class I take has finished, due to the ill-treatment of our teacher. This just makes me sad. The studio have another teacher doing a ballet class, but I am refusing to join, out of protest, and I've had a class by this other teacher and she's like a robot…..no imagination what so ever! So, the below photo will not be me any time soon…

Now, however, I am hooked on the Winter Olympic! I just love it, and have even found myself very interested in the Slopestyle snowboarding event. Not that I've ever snowboarded in my life, but thats not the point is it. And of course our first GB medalist Miss Jenny Jones! Well done to you! First Brit to win an olympic medal on snow, cause of course we don't have much of it where we are. Especially not this winter, its all rain and clouds here. Now of course, I'm watching the Team Event Figure Skating. Something I have actually done, until they realised I was far too afraid of falling on my face on ice…. I mean really, who would want to fall over, I was happy on two feet! But anyway, I just love the figure skating, its just so elegant, I wish I could do something like that. I did used to have a pair of skates from our time in the states, beautiful white ones. I'm looking forward to the ladies event to see team GB's Jenna McCorkell, and Italy's Carolina Kostner, who I remember seeing at the Turin Olympics, for some reason I thought she was old then, perhaps because she wasn't a teenager.

Thirdly, I have recently become addicted to Revenge, the American TV show. And I'm now dreaming of living in the Hamptons with a labrador…although without the murder would be good. But really the clothes, the lifestyle, do these people actually work or do they just have luncheon all the time?

Also, it is again almost that time of year. Yes I'm talking about the Hallmark Holiday which is Valentines day! For those of you that apparently dont know how to tell your boyfriend/girlfriend/parter/spouse/whatever that you love them, this holiday is for you. For the rest of us in the world that say that on a regular basis, this day is supposed to be one where we can tell the world to go away and spend time with that person. Please remember gifts/card/flowers/whatever ARE NOT THE POINT OF THIS HOLIDAY, as we are made to believe thanks to Hallmark! And to those of you that think it is, please get a clue and stop wasting your partners money!

So news from me. As I believe I've already mentioned, I am stuck at home, finished my Masters, but still looking for the perfect job. Although I seem to be finding I'm not quite qualified for the 'perfect' job, but we'll see what I can do about that ;). I've had a lovely christmas holiday with my family on a sunny island in the South Pacific, somewhere I've never been before, and am looking forward to returning to that side of the world. I've got my sights set on New Zealand, although mainly so I can go to Hobbiton, because I am super cool. Although really, what I've seen of New Zealand on TV looks beautiful. This is of course after my trip to the US of A this summer, which me and my boyfriend are looking forward to, but still need to book.

Also, while I remember, if any of you reading this happen to be Polish, or speak Polish, one of my friends is a writer of poetry and prose. So please take a look at her work. I know my Polish (literally two words) isn't good enough, but I've heard its good. https://www.facebook.com/celebrytka.poezja.1?fref=ts her name is Agnieszka Danuta Grzekowicz. I hope you enjoy.

So thats it from me for now. I hope you enjoyed and you come back to read more of my life and ramblings.

I hope you all enjoy the winter olympics, I'm here cheering on team GB!

Sports Mad

So I've just finished my Masters, am back to work, and am now apparently going a bit sports mad.
I already do Ballet, and am trying to promote my local dance class (https://www.facebook.com/Mariasballet and https://twitter.com/Adult_ballet), a great fun class, but unfortunately lacking the participants, due to a lack of advertisement! So anyone in the Northampton (UK) area and fancies a fun fitness class that works muscles I bet you didn't even know you had, come along!!

Also I am promoting a new fitness suite in Blisworth. (http://www.dntrainingsuite.co.uk/the-studio/4578872145) who will hopefully be starting a kickboxing class on a Wednesday evening.

I was going to join a gym, but realised gyms want you to join for a number of months, and Im not entirely sure where I will be in the next 12 months.

Maybe its my spur to attempt to get back into shape, and stop being a couch potato!

So guys around reading this, find your local fitness class, it doesn't all have to be boring like jogging or 'spinning', dance classes and kickboxing are all around! So get off the sofa, go meet some new people, and have some fun!!!!

Brain Fried

Good Afternoon All!
You'll be happy to know that I did get all my hair cut off, and it has been donated to the Little Princess Trust. When getting it done the women in the hairdressers were so shocked at what I was doing, though when I explained it was for charity, they thought I was lovely.... Anyways, I'm still encouraging all who have long hair, go for the Bob like me (ignore the face), so a kid will have hair for christmas....or after :).

For the past few weeks I've been at uni, attending classes for my Masters, unfortunately now I've got three weeks off, and lots of stuff to do, but as usual my brain just wont work!! It seems like I can do anything as long as its not what I'm supposed to be doing. These last 3 days I've made a load of brownies, read a book, and sorted some important stuff out. But study...ohhh no! I've even started reading a book on Palaeopathology, which is very interesting, but has nothing to do with what I'm supposed to be doing. Although, it might have something to do with my thesis :D, so really it needs to be read. (Doesn't it look so exciting!)
Oh by the way, my masters is in Forensic Anthropology & Archaeology, dont be alarmed by my studies.

Anyways, I'm sure that once I get in the right frame of mind to actually do this, it'll all be fine, but at the moment, feeling slightly useless.

As everybody should know, last night was All Hallows Eve. Have to say, one of my favourite festivals. But I was SHOCKED by the lack of trick or treaters last night. Just cause its raining??!? Really, what is the world coming to. I was also shocked by the lack of Halloween specials and horror movies on tv last night. I remember when I was a kid, although I grew up in the US so its a bit different, trick or treating every year in the freezing cold. Halloween parties at school, with friends, haunted houses. Not to mention the halloween movies!! Like Hocus Pocus (I was about 10...I have it now :D) and Sabrina the Teenage Witch (still waiting for someone to buy me...). But on a whole, deeply unimpressed by English halloween....adding more reasons to leaving again. Anyways, next up christmas! Hopefully it'll be better this year.

Sorry about the mish mash of thoughts there. Also wanting to talk about Libba Bray's new book The Diviners and Anthony Horowitz final book in the Power of Five series Oblivion. Both good reads if you get a chance but may have to leave that for another day. I'll also be putting on my recipe for the brownies on 'Ginganinja's Word' if anyone fancys them, I admit they're AMAZING, and I've eaten far too many already...Ooooops!

Have a good evening, and anyone that's doing Movember, I feel sorry for your wives :P

Donate Your Hair!!

Good Evening!!

I just want to spread the word on something I feel is a great idea. The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provide little girls and boys across the UK and Ireland with real hair wigs. These are usually children that have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

I think this is a great idea, especially for young children, it can help give them extra confidence at a bad time.

The link is: http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk

The charity accept hair donations as well as money. All of the information for both are on this website.

I'm about to donate for the second time, and I hope that anyone who reads this understands how amazing this charity is. I know that hair is not the most important thing in a persons life, for most people it grows and you cut it, but you have to understand that for those who have lost their hair, it can become more important. Although we dont always acknowledge it, our hair is a part of our identity. We change it regularly to match our moods, our styles, the weather, fashion and so on. As a redhead, or ginger, carrot top, copper top, bacon bonce, whatever you want to call it, I've always been seen as being slightly different, merely because of the colour of my hair. The one time I decided to radically change it I felt lost. This is what those children must feel like, and this charity helps give them back that identity.

Anyways, please look into this. I hope it touches your hearts as it has mine.

The Ginganinja Diaries

So, as anyone can see this is a spin off from the original Ginganinjas word, which I have now turned in to just my baking diaries. Don't worry anyone whose using the amazing recipes I put on, I will keep it up, in fact I have a few more to add :D.
But this side of things is more like opinions, observations and maybe a few rants when necessary. So I hope you enjoy. This is my chance to express my views on whats happening in the world, reviews on books, movies etc, and if you read and feel the need to criticise, please do so!!!

Cheers
